The City Management Office is the administration of the Municipal Executive Board and consists of nine departments that work with city-wide strategic assignments and support the Municipal Executive Board in managing the municipality. The Business Development Department is organized within the City Management Office but works closely and together with all other city administrations on various issues.

The Business Development Department works broadly with business development, from strengthening the business climate and the city's attractiveness to driving innovation and being involved in developing strong clusters. One of our important tasks is to support business establishments in Borås. The city's business community is growing and has a significant need for expansion, while Borås is an attractive place for new establishments.

We collaborate closely with both the business community and the University of Borås, one of the largest universities in the country, to promote growth throughout the Borås region. Our work is based on Borås Vision 2035 and the Business Strategy, and we are proud of our prominent clusters in creative and cultural industries, e-commerce and logistics, textiles, fashion and design, advanced vehicle solutions, and Tech.

Business Developer Job Responsibilities

As a Business Developer with us, you, together with the rest of the team, have the important task of strengthening and developing Borås' business community. You build and develop relationships with both existing companies, clusters, and associations, as well as all the colleagues we collaborate with internally in the city hall.

The role involves close collaboration with your colleagues in the department, where you will work on issues related to both the Business Guide and our establishment team. The department runs several EU projects, and you will assist with them as needed. The role of Business Developer means that you will represent Borås City at various networks and events both in Sweden and abroad to promote the city's business community. At the Business Development Department, we work together and help each other. We are a service organization and aim to facilitate and simplify for businesses in Borås.

To succeed as a Business Developer with us, we prefer that you have a relevant university degree or equivalent experience in business development and business establishments. You need to have several years of experience working with business relationships related to business development.

We value your ability to analyze market trends and understand the needs of businesses. If you have experience in innovation support systems, we see it as a significant advantage.

To thrive in the role, you need to have a good ability to communicate and build trusting relationships. You should enjoy collaborating in an energetic team and be driven to create opportunities for the business community in Borås.

You should be proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and have good knowledge of the Office suite. You should also have a driver's license.
